Meet Shelby

Some people arrive quietly… and then you realize they’ve brought an entire orchestra with them.

Shelby is one of those people.

Originally from Grand Rapids, Michigan, she has a background that reads like a mosaic: music, photography, leadership, finance, and a deep well of life experience. With a degree in Music and years spent working across healthcare, insurance, and the arts, she brings both precision and creativity.

At Novi, Shelby helps keep the heart of our work beating: overseeing financial systems, budgeting, payroll, donor communication, and grant support. In other words: she makes sure the practical foundations are strong so that love can keep moving freely all over the world.

But if you ask her what matters most, she won’t talk about spreadsheets, but she’ll talk about people.

‍
She’ll tell you how deeply she believes in what happens when genuine love meets practical action, and how that ripple effect can transform entire communities. She sees it every day. And it moves her to “love bigger and dream better for this world.” (We couldn’t have said it better.)

Outside of work, you’ll most likely find Shelby with music in the background, a crochet project in her hands, or walking for miles just to think and breathe. She loves art, books (especially Ray Bradbury), and meaningful time with people.

Something most people don’t know about Shelby:
 As a child, she dreamed of becoming an archaeologist, someone who uncovers hidden stories. In many ways, she still does. Only now does she help uncover and support the stories of resilience, generosity, and hope that are being written every day in this community.
